Queen's Rapier Championship & Baronial Birthday
The Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands invites one and all to celebrate the epic battle to find the next Queen's Rapier Champion and... our Baronial Birthday! In store is a day filled with fencing, fighting, throwing, and painting ending with a sumptuous Scottish feast in honor of our Scottish Baron. Please bring your best displays of pageantry to decorate the fencing field in a manner fit for a queen!
Join us on May 26, 2012 at The Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills, 2359 West Ingomar Rd., Franklin Park, PA 15237. Site opens at 9am and closes at 9pm.
Fighters, prepare yourselves for a 3-on-3 tournament and choose a Laurel or Pelican team sponsor to provide a favor for each combatant. Artisans, please bring your finest to enter the A&S Competition. Let our glorious barony provide the inspiration for your entry! Throwers, look forward to bringing your best for our birthday inspired range. Need a break from the marshal fun? Come inside and make yourself a BMDL belt favor to wear with pride.
Included in the day's fee is the tasty lunch side board, but save room! Capping off this glorious day will be a sumptuous Scottish feast prepared by THL Zoe Akropolitina (Diana Stoughton). There are only 60 feast seats available so reserve early! Dietary concerns can be directed to zoeakropolitina at aol.com. This is a dry site. Protected low flames are allowed.
The charges for the event are as follows: Adults (18 and up) with lunch & feast: $15.00, Adults lunch only: $8.00, Youth (6–17) with feast: $12.00, Youth lunch only: $5.00. All children under 6 are free. Adult non-SCA Members will pay a surcharge of $5.00. Make checks payable to SCA, Inc. — BMDL. Reservations can be sent by May 11 to Master Alaric MacConnal (Robert Smith) 1194 Firwood Drive Pittsburgh PA 15243. Reservations questions can be directed to alaric at pobox.com.

A brief overview of the schedule for the day:
- Site will open at 9am.
- A&S competition drop off will run from 9am to noon. Let the glorious Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands provide you inspiration for your entry!
- Queens Rapier Champion tournament will start at 10am. Fencers, bring your best regalia to display around the tournament lists to make this day truly spectacular for our Queen!
- The Regalia workshop will start at 10am and close at 3:30. Stop by to make a BMDL belt favor to wear with pride or donate to the barony!
- The 3 on 3 heavy tournament and the thrown weapons range will start at 1 and close at 3:30.
- Youth fighting will have a mentoring session from 11–12 and will resume with a tournament from 1–3:30.
- Baronial court will start at 4pm.
- Feast will start at 6pm.
- Site closes at 9pm.
Directions
From the North: Take I-79 to Exit 73 (Wexford). At the end of the ramp turn left onto Route 910. Get in the right lane. At the second light turn right onto Brandt School Road. Follow Brandt School Road approx. 2.6 Miles. Turn right onto West Ingomar and go ½ mile. The Unitarian Universalist Church is on your right. Please park in the lower parking lot. The upper lot is reserved for handicapped and Royalty.
From the South: Take your best approach to I-279 Northbound. Take Exit 8 (Camp Horne Road). At the end of the ramp turn right, go 0.4 miles, and bear right onto Lowries Run Road. Go 1 mile and bear left onto Rochester Road. Follow Rochester Road approx. 3.8 Miles. Turn Right onto West Ingomar Road. Go 0.3 miles and the Unitarian Universalist Church is on your right. Please park in the lower parking lot. The upper lot is reserved for Handicapped and Royalty.
